High and low frequency power inductors

General information

Power inductors level output current storing energy for the electric load during the switching of the semiconductors. In fact these inductors are used in switched-mode power supplies (in particular the forword type) or on the output of generators for 50Hz welding in order to reduce the voltage and current ripple.
Their peculiarity is that they work with high direct current components. Iron dust nuclei are often used because, working in a power flux density close to saturation, they greatly reduce the dimensions. The process of space and size reduction is also favoured by the use of flat conductors with coiled edges favours.
